Vinegar, Red Wine

Red wine vinegar is made from the oxidation of red wine. Like red wine, the vinegar maintains the anti-inflammatory and antioxidant resveratrol. This plant-based defense mechanism also has properties that fight blood clots from forming in the coronary arteries as well as slow down the growth of colon cancer cells.

Red wine vinegar is commonly used in salad dressings and for quick pickling.

Because red wine vinegar is derived from grapes – a crop on the Dirty Dozen list of those most contaminated with pesticides – be sure to choose organic red wine vinegar.
