Glucomannan

Glucomannan is a water-soluble fiber derived from konjac root, or elephant yam root. It has been used in Asia for thousands of years in traditional foods like noodles, tofu, and gelled food products. Glucomannan acts as a thickening agent in food.

Due to its fibrous properties, is also used as a supplement for weight loss as well as constipation. It absorbs water in the body, which makes you feel fuller and helps food process through the digestive tract more rapidly. Some research suggests that it can help lower blood sugar levels as well as LDL (bad) cholesterol.
