Fenugreek is an herb native to southern Europe and Asia. It is widely grown today in the Mediterranean countries, Argentina, France, India, North Africa, and the United States.

Fenugreek has a maple aroma and is used in many baked goods, chutneys, confections, and imitation maple syrup. The seeds are often ground and used in curries.
