Psyllium Husk

Psyllium husk is a soluble fiber formed from the seeds of the Plantago ovata plant. It is most commonly used as a powder or supplement to treat symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome and other gastrointestinal problems. Psyllium husk bonds with water and forms a mass that helps you feel full while easily moving food through your system.

This source of fiber promotes colon health, lowers cholesterol and reduces the risk of heart disease. It is also used in gluten-free baking to help bind ingredients for a less crumbly result.
