Crème Fraîche

Crème fraîche, pronounced 'krem fresh', is a thick, smooth soured cream with a rich, velvety texture and a nutty tangy taste.

Crème fraîche can be found in specialty food stores or you can make your own using this simple recipe: Add 1 cup organic whipping cream and 2 tablespoons organic buttermilk to a glass jar. Cover and shake to combine.  Let stand at room temperature (about 70 degrees F.) for 8 to 24 hours, or until thickened. Stir well and refrigerate. Use within 10 days.

As with all dairy products, choose organic crème fraîche(preferably from grass-fed cows) that is rBGH-free.
