Protein Powder, Egg

Egg protein powder is a protein supplement made from egg whites. It is a complete protein, meaning it contains the essential amino acids not found in our bodies necessary for digestion and nutrient absorption.

Because the protein in eggs digests more slowly than whey protein, many experts believe egg protein is the best choice for muscle protein synthesis. For those with a dairy or soy intolerance, it is a good alternative to many other protein powders currently available.

Selecting and Storing

Look for egg protein powder that sources eggs from organically-fed, hormone-free chickens. When sourced from free-range chickens, there is a higher content of vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant. Egg protein powder from factory farmed chickens is more likely to have contaminants such as antibiotics and Salmonella.
